The ZY project is the result of the partnership between Almadesign and INEGI, which requested the collaboration of the studio to design a baby stroller for the ZIPPY brand (SONAE group). The challenge of designing a Portuguese stroller “from scratch” was accepted with great satisfaction by the studio. The product development process went through a long and intense iteration between the design team, the customer and the INEGI engineering team that led the process, including an extensive market and user research. The chosen design concept privileged lightweight, safety and collapsibility, being one of the most compact strollers on the market when closed. Besides the form, aesthetics and functionality, Almadesign also collaborated in the development of specific parts for prototyping, in the selection of colors, textile materials and finishes.
