The inTRAIN project - Research and Development for RAILWAY INTERIORS - aims to design and build a mock-up a railway interior for a suburban railway carriage, focused on the integration of eco-efficient and user-friendly materials and technologies with an innovative design. The project intends to integrate competences from different technological areas with the final goal to build a full-scale prototype to validate the developed solutions and showcase the know-how and technological capabilities of the participants. The inTRAIN project is promoted by a consortium of companies: SETSA - Sociedade de Engenharia e Transformação, S.A; Active Space Technologies, S.A; Almadesign, Conceito e Desenvolvimento de Design LDA; INEGI - Instituto de Engenharia Mecânica e Gestão Industrial; ISQ - Instituto de Soldadura e Qualidade; Optimal Structural Solutions Lda and Spin.Works, Lda, with the participation of EMEF – Empresa de Manutenção de Equipamento Ferroviário. The project had the support of ERT - technical textiles, Forbo - floor coverings manufacturer and Climar – light industry.
