Comfort, culture, and sustainability between departures and arrivals
Premium Lounge Atlântico
Interior, 2023
The new TAP Lounge at Lisbon Airport, in the non-Schengen area, was designed as a haven for passengers in transit, where comfort, privacy and well-being come together in an experience that anticipates the charm of the destination. Based on the pillars of people, planet and growth, the space combines functionality and aesthetics to provide a peaceful break and prepare passengers for the next stage of their journey.
The lounge is a celebration of authenticity and Portugal's rich cultural heritage, designed to provide a genuine and enriching travel experience. The choice of local, sustainable and authentic materials is a direct reflection of the company's sustainability strategy, integrating harmoniously with TAP's vision of respect for the environment and the country's culture.
The Lounge layout was designed to meet the needs of passengers and staff, integrating work, meeting and rest areas with exclusive furniture that extends the TAP Business Class experience. The open-space layout and wide corridors ensure fluid circulation and operational efficiency, while the space prioritises privacy, silence and comfort, also incorporating temporary exhibitions by Portuguese artists that reinforce the connection between culture, creativity and sophistication.
The lounge's design combines sophistication and comfort through a soft colour palette and the careful use of natural, sustainable and locally sourced materials. Elements such as wood, Burel textiles, cork and Portuguese ceramics reinforce the cultural identity of the space, combining functionality, well-being and craftsmanship excellence. Adjustable lighting and the integration of contemporary art create a peaceful and refined atmosphere, enhancing the sensory and cultural experience of passengers.
