The impact of the pandemic on  COVID-19 in Portugala nd around the world has forced health professionals and the scientific community to find new therapeutic solutions and equipments. The delay in ventilatory support has been identified as a strong contributor to avoid mortality. Non-invasive solutions, in particular the helmet solution with CPAP ( Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) added to a high flow gas mixture flow generator, has a remarkable robustness and efficiency in the effective treatment of cases.

Almadesign developed the helmet with Petratex, INEGI, MPtool, JPM, Centro Hospitalar de Entre Douro e Vouga, and was financed by Portugal 2020 within the scope of the Competitiveness and Internatiinalization Operational Program through the European Regional Development Fund.
